I’m sure you are all delighted to find out that our much-loved team member Maureen Malouf and her husband Joseph have decided to move to Kokoda Residences.

Maureen and Joseph had planned for a Queensland retirement but when she saw the display apartment for the first time, it suddenly struck her, “why aren’t I moving in?!”

Friends of ours have just purchased an apartment in the CBD and when I saw the quality of the finishes at Kokoda Residences, I realised it was of the same quality but with a much more affordable price.”

Maureen explained she would never buy off-the-plan into a standard residential apartment with all the current issues with strata, but as retirement villages have legislation protecting residents from large, unexpected costs she felt very confident. And with Vasey Communities being such a trusted not-for-profit organisation that has been around for 60 years, it really provided her that added reassurance.

“Plus, Vasey Communities not only have one of Sydney’s best builders, Richard Crookes Constructions, they’ve got their own independent quality control inspector monitoring all construction for that extra peace of mind.”

Another large deciding factor for Maureen was the location, stating “although we don’t like to think about it, one day we may not have our driver’s license, and if that day comes, we’re minutes from the train station, so we never have to lose our independence”.

Maureen says she’s “spoilt for choice” for restaurants and retail therapy at Kokoda Residences. As well as having Westfield Hornsby in her new neighbourhood, Castle Towers & St Ives shopping centres are just 15 minutes away.

Maureen cannot wait to be part of the “wonderful, vibrant community” that she’s been a part of building. Yet another big, beautiful reason why she’s made this her time and her place.
