The challenging yet rewarding work of Retirement Living!
On Thursday 13th August, our Chief Operating Officer Nicole Burt attended the inaugural National Village Leadership Forum in Baulkham Hills, NSW which brought together the people at the centre of village life, the managers and operational leaders who translate policy, compliance, resident expectations and community culture into everyday outcomes.
Across one practical day, the program explored the leadership skills, operational judgement and human capability needed to manage modern retirement communities with confidence..
One key element was the emphasis the NSW Strata and Property Services Commissioner Angus Abadee placed on the critical role that our retirement villages play in NSW’s housing future. And a role that reflects not just vital housing solutions, but also one of communities that build connections for our seniors, and in our case for our veterans and their families too.
Attending with Nicole on behalf of Vasey Communities a not-for-profit organisation with 5 Retirement Living villages across Sydney were Jacqie Sutcliffe and Allison Prusina, two of our terrific Village Managers and Lynette Porter, our Resident Support Officer.
Thanks for a great day of informative sessions and networking Daniel Gannon, Executive Director Retirement Living Council Australia, Angus Abadee, Strata and Property Services Commissioner at NSW Fair Trading, Deborah MacDonald, RLC Team Administrator and Martha Morgan, Bespoke Solutions Coordinator at Property Council of Australia.
